Medoxa - (Patient)

Medoxa is a patient-focused healthcare app designed to make quality healthcare more accessible. It empowers users with accurate, comprehensive, and curated information, helping them make informed healthcare decisions. By offering an end-to-end solution, Medoxa simplifies the healthcare journey and ensures a seamless experience for its users.

As the lead designer, I took Medoxa from concept to launch, shaping the product vision, defining the design language, and crafting intuitive experiences that balanced user needs with business goals.

Objective

  • Simplify doctor discovery & booking : Enable patients to search, filter, and book doctors by specialty, location, and availability, while providing access to doctor profiles and reviews.
  • Streamline appointment management : Allow patients to view, reschedule, or cancel appointments and receive timely reminders.
  • Support dependent care : Provide functionality for patients to manage and book appointments on behalf of their dependents.
  • Digitize health records : Allow patients to securely upload, view, and share medical reports and histories with healthcare providers.
  • Improve medication adherence : Offer customizable medication reminders with detailed instructions and schedules.

Explorations & research

  • Stakeholder mapping: Identified all key stakeholders involved in a patient’s healthcare journey, including patients, doctors, labs, and pharmacies.
  • Patient interviews: Conducted interviews to gain insights into behavioral patterns and decision-making factors when choosing healthcare services (e.g., doctors, hospitals, labs, pharmacies). Considered variables such as age, gender, and medical history.
  • Doctor/Expert interactions: Engaged with medical professionals to understand the diagnostic process—covering documentation, management of medical history, and interpretation of lab reports.
  • Holistic understanding: Mapped the interdependencies between patients, providers, and supporting services to identify opportunities for a seamless end-to-end healthcare experience.

Market Research

There has been significant growth in the digital healthcare sector in India. As part of the market study, three leading apps were shortlisted and analyzed to understand their features and limitations.

Persona

Based on the research and the data gathered, personas were developed representing a potential user group.

Information Architecture

Drawing from my research and collected data, I began developing the Information Architecture. This IA acts as a blueprint for the app’s development, outlining core features and structure, enhancing the user journey and usability, and ensuring scalability and consistency.
