Medoxa - (Doctors)

Medoxa is a doctor-focused healthcare app that empowers medical professionals to seamlessly manage appointments, access and update patient health records, and oversee clinic or hospital activities with ease. It also streamlines interactions with patients and peers, helping doctors enhance both efficiency and quality of care.

As the lead designer, I was responsible for taking the product from concept through the entire lifecycle—shaping the vision, defining the design language, and designing intuitive workflows tailored to doctors’ needs while ensuring alignment with business goals.

Objective

  • Design a platform that enables doctors to efficiently manage patient appointments and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Facilitate seamless patient interactions through appointment updates, online support, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Provide tools to monitor clinical inventory and handle day-to-day clinic or hospital tasks seamlessly.
  • Support doctors in managing multiple consultation profiles for different practices or facilities.
  • Enhance collaboration by connecting doctors with peers and hospital staff to streamline communication and coordination.

Explorations & research

  • Conducted interviews with doctors to understand their workflows and challenges in managing patient information.
  • Gained insights into how doctors balance multiple consultation roles across different clinics and hospitals.
  • Studied how clinical inventory is tracked, managed, and replenished to ensure smooth operations.
  • Explored the processes doctors use to perform administrative and official tasks beyond consultations.
  • Identified pain points in existing systems, such as fragmented patient records, limited visibility across locations, and manual tracking of clinical resources.
  • Observed the role of digital adoption in streamlining tasks like appointment scheduling, medical record access, and peer communication.

Persona

Based on my research and the data gathered, I started building personas representing a certain type of user.

Information Architecture

Based on my research and the data gathered, I began developing the Information Architecture. This IA serves as a blueprint for the app’s development by defining core features and structure, improving the user journey and usability, and ensuring scalability and consistency.

Delivered Solution

  • Designed a centralized platform for doctors to manage patient information and medical records seamlessly across multiple clinics/hospitals.
  • Created an integrated appointment management system with reminders, scheduling flexibility, and role-based consultation profiles.
  • Developed features for clinical inventory tracking and management, reducing manual effort and ensuring resource availability.
  • Simplified administrative workflows by digitizing key tasks, enabling doctors to focus more on patient care.
  • Introduced seamless patient interaction tools, including feedback collection, online support, and follow-up reminders.
  • Enabled peer and staff collaboration through secure communication channels, supporting better coordination within hospitals and clinics.
  • Designed an intuitive, consistent UI to minimize learning curves and encourage adoption among doctors with varying levels of digital comfort.

Wireframing the solution

I developed low-fidelity prototypes to test out the workflows.
